What are Microblading Eyebrows?

Updated: Nov 29, 2023

Microblading is a semi-permanent form of cosmetic tattooing. It uses a blade-shaped tool with a row of tiny, barely visible needles to create individual hair-like featherweight stroke along your brows while depositing pigment into your skin. It creates fuller and well-defined brow hairs that don't easily wash off.

Note: The needles don't penetrate the skin but just delicately scratch the surface, much like a paper cut. So, don't worry too much as it doesn't really hurts! :)

Before & After Microblading Brows

Do note that cosmetic tattoos use different "inks" than the traditional tattoos, cosmetic tattoos use smaller pigment particle which applied superficially to your skin (so your body eventually metabolizes it until it fades away), rather than placed into your skin’s deeper layers (where it becomes permanent).

Microblading produces a semi-permanent “tattoo” that looks soft and subtle. Over time, the pigment on your brows will also lighten a shade or two from its original color.

Eyebrow embroidery can last around 1 to 2 years, but the longevity of the pigment will depend on your skin type. People with slightly more oily skin will tend to last around the first year, but those with normal skin can last up to 2 years.

it will takes 3 to 7 days of healing process after the embroidery session. The healing process usually starts from the second to third day after the session. We also suggest to do touch ups if the shape or color is uneven.

Some brow care tips:

  1. Avoid water contact for the first 3 days. (Use cotton pads or sponges to gently remove the cleanser bubbles)

  2. Apply a very thin layer of the repair cream twice a day for the first 3-4 days. Use cotton buds to apply instead of using hands.

  3. Allow a natural peeling period of 7-10 days; Do not scratch or pluck during this time.

  4. Do not go exercise, sauna or spa for the first 3 days.

  5. For long term care, skincare, sunblock, foundation, and oil-based makeup remover must avoid eyebrows area to remain the vibrancy.
